Carolyn Moriarty
Carolyn Moriarty is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts. She earned her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College.
Carolyn has worked with high school students in the Boston and Chicago areas, as well as in inpatient psychiatric facilities and domestic violence shelters. Most of her experience comes from working in a group practice, where she developed extensive experience treating anxiety-based disorders, particularly Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). She also enjoys working with individuals experiencing grief, body image concerns, attention-deficit disorder, and difficult life transitions.
She tailors her approach to the individual needs of each client, drawing primarily from Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Carolyn uses humor and empathy to help clients feel understood rather than ashamed or “less than.” Her approach focuses on helping clients challenge self-limiting beliefs, process emotions without judgment, and foster personal growth through new perspectives. Sensitivity to each individual’s unique nervous system and way of learning lies at the foundation of her treatment approach.
